Lens Mount Compatibility Guide: Which Lens Fits Which Camera Body

On the "Choose Lenses" screen, Camera Sell Online lists the lenses linked to the body you picked. That screen only makes sense if the lens actually fits the body, and lens mounts are where sellers most often get mixed up: a Canon EF-S lens looks like an EF lens, a Nikon F lens will not go on a Nikon Z body without an adapter, and a Sony A-mount lens has nothing to do with a Sony E-mount camera. This guide lists each brand's mounts, which bodies on this site use them, and which adapters exist.
Read the mount off the lens
The mount name is printed on the lens itself: Canon writes "EF", "EF-S", "EF-M", "RF" or "RF-S" on the front ring or barrel; Nikon writes "NIKKOR Z" for Z-mount and "AF-S", "AF-P" or "AF" (with "DX" for APS-C) for F-mount; Sony writes "FE" (full-frame E-mount), "E" (APS-C E-mount) or "A" (A-mount, also "DT" for APS-C); Fujifilm writes "XF" or "XC" for X-mount; Panasonic writes "LUMIX G" for Micro Four Thirds and "LUMIX S" for L-Mount. Third-party lenses (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Viltrox, Samyang) print the mount in the model name or on the rear cap.
Canon

Fujifilm
X-mount is used by every interchangeable-lens Fujifilm body on this site: X-A5, X-A7, X-T100, X-T200, X-T2, X-T4, X-T5 and X-H1. XF and XC lenses both fit all of them; XC is the lighter, plastic-mount range. The X100F has a fixed lens and no mount. There is no official Fujifilm adapter for Canon, Nikon or Sony autofocus lenses; third-party adapters exist but are mostly manual focus.
Panasonic
Micro Four Thirds is the mount on the Lumix G7, G85, G100 and GH5. It is a shared standard: Panasonic, Olympus and OM System lenses fit all of these bodies. The Lumix DC-S1 uses the L-Mount instead, shared with Leica SL and Sigma full-frame mirrorless cameras and lenses; Micro Four Thirds lenses do not fit an L-Mount body and vice versa.
Action cameras
GoPro, DJI Osmo Action, DJI Pocket and Insta360 cameras have fixed lenses and no lens mount, so the lens step does not apply; the accessories step on this site is the same five items (Original Bag, Battery, Bill, Box, Charger).
What this means when you sell
- List only lenses that fit the body you are selling. A lens for a different mount can still be sold, but as a separate item; use the Sell Camera Lens page or WhatsApp for a lens that is not linked to your model.
- Keep the adapter with the lens it was bought for. If your Nikon Z body is always used with F-mount glass on an FTZ, mention the adapter on WhatsApp; the lens screen does not have a field for it.
- Check the rear cap and the front ring, not the box: kits are often repacked, and the box says "EF-S 18-55" while the lens inside is something else.
